Hi, we are Jip & Jip. Two trans non-binary people. Together we have been busy recently with the new launch of our online tool Pro-Now.com. At Pro-Now you can practice pronouns. As trans people, we come into daily contact with people who mispronounce our pronouns. Not out of unwillingness, but out of ignorance. Apart from the fact that this is incredibly annoying, we have also noticed over the years that ‘people’ find it very difficult and that there is an expectation that we are going to explain, teach or correct someone else. We would like to carry this burden collectively: we want to provide an environment for people who want to do well to practice safely. That's why we created Pro-Now.

Proper use of pronouns saves lives

Transgender and non-binary people face misgendering, discrimination and violence on a daily basis. More than half of young people in this group consider suicide attempts; nearly one in five actually do so. These figures show how crucial social support is. One of the most impactful forms of it: using one's name and pronouns correctly.

Pro-Now offers a place where you can practice at your own pace without burdening anyone. As a trans person, you are explaining yourself day in and day out. With Pro-Now, we want to provide a place where everyone can learn and practice so that we build a more inclusive society together. That's why this tool is from the trans community, for society

Why we need your support

We have already received funding from Cultuurfonds and Gemeente Den Haag, but because gender diversity and inclusive language is still so new, it is difficult to fully fund this project. Therefore, we do not have sufficient funding to take all the necessary steps to implement Pro-Now.
We still need 10,000 euros for Pro-Now to:

• Continue developing the tool with new people, faces and (double) pronouns and even a feature so you can practice using the name of your child, colleague or student;
• To create a traveling exhibition;
• Provide training in healthcare, education, culture and other sectors
